Today, we went Geocaching. It's a wonderful hands-on, fun way to teach children about maps, directions, latitude/longitude and geography. We found a cache that had been hidden in the woods behind Stop and Shop. We left an item behind. We took a travel bug from within. The travel bug will be brought to a new location in central Massachusetts. Great fun!
In addition, we learned how to Blog. This is my first entry. Blogging is a great way to integrate technology into the classroom. We reviewed Wikis and Podcasts as well as reviewed chapters from Lindquist's book, Seeing the Whole Through Social Studies. It was an exciting, full day filled with important, helpful information that I look forward to incorporating into my classroom.
